I am a firm believer that learning a language is a breeze if you regularly practice and enjoy it. I know this for a fact because English is not my mother tongue, but I have now mastered it due to speaking it often and my love for reading and writing.
I was raised all over the world and have studied in numerous international schools, which has required me to pick up the language in order to communicate with my fellow classmates and teachers. From scratch I have learnt the language until I am fluent in it and consider it my first language. Besides my experience of using English during my years of tertiary education, I also used it in university and speak it at home.
I have received awards for excellence in the english language and always scored a distinction for the subject. I completed my tertiary education by taking my GCE 'O' Levels in which I passed English with flying colors. Then I moved on to complete my Diploma in Mass Communication and have also received my Bachelors in Mass Communication (Hons) Public Relations.
I have had experience working with a multinational company which required a firm grasp of the language to conduct daily business. I also have experience working as a sub-editor of a local English newspaper.
English is a vital tool for communication and other aspects of life. It can open up doors for the future. Being weak in English can be a barrier for personal, educational, and career development. Our ability to master the English language will help us to become more global.
It is a shame when graduates are unemployed due to their inability to communicate well in English. So, it is a wise step to start learning and practicing the language early so that it will become natural and comfortable to use in the future.
With the right method, attidue, and lots of practice, anyone can master the English language and I feel that it would be a pleasure to teach students how to appreciate the language and that it is not as hard as it seems. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it!
