Ecology of U.S. National Parks
Biology I September 5, 2007
Objective: Students are to apply concepts in chapter three of their biology book in this project. Students will gain an understanding of models of the biosphere by researching natural phenomena of U. S. national parks.
Instruction: Create a “storyboard” that shows the following: A.) The ecosystems and communities of the park. What their limiting factors are? B.) Describe the variety of populations in the park (food web) C.) Explanations of human impacts that exists in the area D.) Board should include a map.
Board Dimensions: Board should not be over 36 inches tall and 30 inches wide
Pictures should have captions that explain ideas shown on board. Board should be able to stand alone. Board should have a color scheme.
Grades: Boards will be graded on the following:
A.) Neatness B.) Organization C.) Descriptions of the park and it’s ecosystem D.) Board addresses all concepts / Chapter two test grade
