How do i figure out the slope and y-intercept for the equation y=4x+5. I am so confused

Every straight line will observe this rule
   general gradient form equation
          y = m x + c

y must be reduce to coefficient 1   ,  therefore  m is the gradient and the c  is the y-intercept.

m = 4  - the gradient   c = 5  - the y-intercept , coordinate (0,5)

the anwer written abobe is correct but i wuld like 2 add something more, although  it is not asked in your question.

m =4, wat does it mean ? it means that the given line y=4x+5 , makes an angle Q with the positive direction of X axis such that tan Q=4.
