Horizontal velocity: 110 km/h=110x 1000/3600= 30.56 m/sec
Initial Vertical velocity will be zero i.e. U(v)=0
Vertical Displacement is same as elevation s = 100m
Now use the equation, s = ut+ ˝ at^2
a= acceleration due to gravity =g=9.8m/s^2, t is the time to hit the ground.
Hence 100 =1/2X 9.8Xt^2
(1) t = 4.52 sec
(2) Vertical velocity acquired, V(v)= U(v)+ at
V=9.8X4.52= 44.3m/s
(3) In the absence of any acceleration in the horizontal direction,
Horizontal distance traveled = Horizontal velocity X time
=30.56X 4.52=
=138.13metres
(4) Velocity of impact = sqrt(30.56^2+44.3^2)
= 53.82m/s
